Dog-friendly cafés in Dubai, area by area: where you can sit with your dog

Coffee with your dog at your feet is one of the small joys of life in Dubai, and the list of places that allow it keeps growing. Most cafés only allow dogs on the terrace, a few let them inside, and every venue has its own rules, so here's where to go in each area and what to expect when you get there.
Pet policies change often. Every café below has been listed as pet-friendly by the sources at the end of this guide, but managers and seasons change the rules. Call ahead, and ask where your dog can sit before you sit down.
JLT and Jumeirah Islands
Jumeirah Lakes Towers is the easiest neighbourhood in Dubai for a dog-friendly coffee: several terraces sit around the lakes, and the fenced JLT dog park in Cluster V is a short walk away for a run before or after. If you live in Jumeirah Islands, these are your nearest options too, alongside The Lakes and The Greens just down the road (see the Jumeirah Islands guide).
| Café | Where | Where your dog can sit |
|---|---|---|
| 1762 | One JLT | Large outdoor terrace; staff often bring water bowls and treats |
| LDC Kitchen + Coffee | One JLT | Outdoor seating area |
| Maiz Tacos | Lakeshore Tower, Cluster Y | Lakeside terrace |
| The Black Sheep | Pullman Dubai JLT, Cluster T | Beer garden |
| Reform Social & Grill | The Lakes | Large garden, a long-time favourite with dog owners |
| Arrows & Sparrows | Emaar Business Park, The Greens | Tree-lined terrace, with water bowls |
| Lah Lah | Zabeel House, The Greens | Outdoor terrace |
| Social Company | Zabeel House, The Greens | Listed as dog-friendly; ask on arrival |
| Juniper | Vida Emirates Hills | Outdoors |
Dubai Marina
The Marina has plenty of dog owners but stricter public spaces, so a pet-friendly terrace is the easy win. Counter Culture Cafe at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites has outdoor seating with drinking stations for dogs. Look for signs before walking the promenade, and remember that JBR's public beach doesn't allow dogs (Marina rules).
Palm Jumeirah
Palm Jumeirah is made for a long day out with a dog. The Pointe has a waterfront promenade facing Atlantis and a row of terraces that welcome pets, and Palm West Beach lets leashed dogs join you at most of its dining spots (Palm guide).
| Café | Where | Where your dog can sit |
|---|---|---|
| Brunch & Cake by the Sea | The Pointe | Terrace |
| Il Passaggio | The Pointe | Terrace |
| Samakje | The Pointe | Outdoor terrace |
| Little Neighborhood | Golden Mile | Outdoor terrace |
| Jones the Grocer | Palm West Beach | Terrace and beach seating |
Dogs stay on a leash at Palm West Beach and can't go in the water. For a swim, head to Dubai's dog beach at Dubai Islands.
Dubai Hills
The Duck Hook at the Dubai Hills Golf Clubhouse welcomes dogs, with house rules on behaviour. Pair it with the free, 24-hour Dubai Hills Estate dog park in Maple 2, which has separate zones for small and large dogs.
Downtown and Business Bay
- Cafe Artois, JW Marriott Marquis: a waterfront terrace on Dubai Canal, with water bowls.
- Pawdy Neighbors, Al Manzil Souk: a pet-friendly bistro that lets dogs sit indoors and out, with its own pet spa.
Burj Park next door is one of the few public parks in Dubai that lets dogs in, on a leash (Downtown guide).
Where to take your dog inside, in summer
From May to October, terraces are too hot for most of the day. Two places let dogs sit inside with you in the air conditioning:
- Pawdy Neighbors, Downtown Dubai (indoors and outdoors).
- Tail Cafe, Green Community Village, Dubai Investments Park (indoors and a shaded terrace).
Before any outdoor coffee in the warmer months, check whether it's safe to walk: pavements can burn paws long before the air feels too hot to you.
Café manners: what venues expect
- Keep your dog on a short leash and close to your table, out of the walkway. Dubai requires dogs to be leashed in all public areas.
- Terrace-only means terrace-only. Ask before you step inside, even to order or pay.
- Bring your own bowl and water. Many cafés offer water, but not all, and not always straight away.
- Bring waste bags, and clean up straight away.
- Pick a quiet time for your first visit, such as a weekday morning, especially with a young or nervous dog.
- Leave if your dog is unsettled. Barking or lunging at other dogs is the quickest way for a café to change its pet policy.
